It only took forEVER, but I finally finished my TOFUtsies socks.  Wanna see?

Sorry about the bad photo. It’s raining outside, so I had to take the pictures inside and they just don’t come out very well in this weather.

I don’t know what the colorways are for these yarns. If you recall, they were a gift from my TSG secret pal. She said they were just left over, so I had assumed there was only really enough for one sock in each skein. So, in an effort to stretch the yarn out, I used the light pink skein for the toes and heels and made the sock short, almost ankle socks. Turns out I needn’t have worried. Apparently, these were almost complete skeins and I had plenty of yarn. In fact, I still have enough of the dark pink to do the toes and heels on Mom’s sock and maybe even make a pair for D.

I’ve got them soaking now, and then will block them so that I can wear them when the sun comes out. I have to admit that I wore them around the house last night when I finished them. I was so excited at what I’d made! Even though these aren’t my first socks, they are the first complete pair I’ve made for myself, so that makes them special!

Pattern: Just plain stockinette socks
Yarn:TOFUtsies
Needles: US 2 magic loop
Date Started: January 4, 2009
Date Completed: January 22, 2009
Mods: Well, since I didn’t follow a specific pattern, there are no real mods. I c/o 60 for the first sock, but that was too large, so the second only has 56. I decreased down to 50 in the foot, though, because I like my socks snug.

Now, I’ve got to do the second glove for Ron, finish the scarves I have at my house and send them off, and then work on my two commissioned sweaters that need finishing. After that I can work on some more stuff for myself….maybe.
